Over 50% of americans over 18 years of age drink coffee every day. This represents over 150 million daily drinkers! The problem is……most people are drinking coffee the wrong way!! Coffee, on its own, is actually a very healthy beverage option that can help give you a little boost of energy and improve cognitive function! The problem arises when people start adding all sorts of “junk” to their coffee to turn it into an unhealthy drink that wreaks havoc on your metabolism. Consuming this unhealthy beverage day after day will have take its toll on your health and your body composition!

When we look to add some flavor to our coffee, we have should have 2 goals in mind:
Add something that is natural (preferably 1 ingredient – so those coffee creamers with 20 ingredients don’t qualify as natural!)
Lower calorie (look at the nutrition label – some of the additives listed below are slightly higher in calories, but healthy calories)

Lastly, because coffee is a highly pesticide sprayed crop, always opt for organic coffee - unless you enjoy sipping on pesticides!! ​
